Katie is a musician and author living in the Denver area. She originally grew up in rural areas of Maine and Pennsylvania and is greatly influenced by a childhood in nature.  As a conductor, she works with the Denver Children’s Choir and Wheat Ridge Presbyterian Church. Katie is a multi-instrumentalist and singer who also teaches private music lessons. 

Katie majored in Music and Russian language and literature at Wellesley College in Massachusetts. After graduation she studied Russian classical music and trombone on a Fulbright scholarship to Russia at the Gnesin Institute in Moscow. She received her Masters in Music Education with an emphasis in conducting from Colorado State University.

Katie writes original songs, poems, and stories and has two short stories selected for print publication in 2021.

Her creative pursuits are many and varied, but all give her great joy. She and her husband have 2 children and a dog named Pepper. She enjoys making music with them as well as spending time in the great outdoors.
